Maryvale Area Partnership (MAP) – Committee Charters

1. Membership Committee
Purpose:
To grow and retain the MAP membership base by ensuring a welcoming and engaging experience for all members.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit new members through outreach and referral programs
  • Onboard and orient new members
  • Maintain an updated membership directory
  • Monitor member engagement and satisfaction
  • Develop benefits and incentives for members

Reports to: Executive Director


2. News, Events & Programming Committee
Purpose:
To manage MAP-hosted events and oversee the Maryvale News platform to inform, engage, and connect the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute monthly mixers, workshops, and special events
  • Coordinate logistics, venues, speakers, and volunteers
  • Manage editorial calendar and content production for Maryvale News
  • Collaborate with Outreach Committee for event promotion
  • Generate event-based revenue through sponsorships and ticket sales

Reports to: Executive Director


3. Outreach & Marketing Committee
Purpose:
To build and maintain MAP’s public image, communicate its value, and promote programs through various media channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage social media accounts and email campaigns
  • Design and distribute promotional materials
  • Create branding assets and enforce visual identity standards
  • Promote MAP initiatives, events, and community programs
  • Operate “Maryvale Marketing” as a service offering for local businesses

Reports to: Executive Director


4. Education & Youth Engagement Committee
Purpose:
To engage young residents through educational partnerships, leadership programs, and youth-centered initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with local schools and youth organizations
  • Develop and run youth workshops and leadership programs
  • Manage the Intercity Youth Sailing Club initiative
  • Promote STEAM, career exploration, and civic engagement

Reports to: Executive Director


5. Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee
Purpose:
To ensure financial sustainability by securing sponsorships, writing grants, and organizing fundraising campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and approach potential sponsors and partners
  • Develop sponsorship packages and grant proposals
  • Host fundraising events and donor drives
  • Maintain sponsor relationships and provide impact reports

Reports to: Executive Director


6. Technology & Tools Committee
Purpose:
To ensure MAP has the digital infrastructure and tools necessary to operate efficiently and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the MAP website
  • Oversee the CRM, email system, and internal collaboration tools
  • Provide tech support and training for staff and volunteers
  • Research and recommend new tools to enhance MAP’s operations

Reports to: Executive Director


7. Community Engagement Committee
Purpose:
To serve as the voice of the community within MAP, ensuring programs are inclusive, accessible, and responsive.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys, listening sessions, and focus groups
  • Serve as liaisons to neighborhood groups and civic associations
  • Collect and analyze feedback to guide program development
  • Promote transparency and accountability through community reporting

Reports to: Executive Director


8. Business Partnerships & Member Services Committee
Purpose:
To support local businesses through MAP services, partnerships, and exclusive benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop member benefit programs and services
  • Organize business networking events
  • Foster partnerships with local and regional organizations
  • Serve as a liaison to business owners and entrepreneurs

Reports to: Executive Director


9. Finance & Compliance Committee (Optional but recommended as MAP scales)
Purpose:
To safeguard the financial and legal health of MAP by supporting oversight, compliance, and fiscal policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Treasurer with budgeting and financial reviews
  • Monitor legal and tax compliance requirements
  • Recommend internal controls and financial policies
  • Prepare for audits and financial reporting
