🏛️ Board of Directors

Governing body responsible for strategic oversight, fiscal integrity, and organizational direction.

  • President
    Chairs board meetings, oversees strategic vision, represents MAP in official capacities.
  • Vice President
    Supports the President, assumes duties when needed, and may chair special initiatives.
  • Treasurer
    Maintains financial oversight, reviews budgets, ensures compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Secretary
    Keeps meeting minutes, maintains records, ensures effective communication within the board.
  • Members at Large (1–3 optional)
    Provide additional expertise, represent stakeholder groups, support board committees.
  • Executive Director (Ex-Officio / Non-Voting)
    David Taylor
    Leads day-to-day operations, supervises committees, executes board strategy, and represents MAP publicly.

👥 Staff & Leadership Team

Reports to Executive Director (David Taylor)

  • Committee Chairs (1 per committee)
    Lead respective committees, coordinate initiatives, and report updates monthly to the Executive Director.
  • Volunteers / Project Leads
    Assist with specific tasks, event planning, and outreach projects within each committee.

🛠️ Operational Committees

1. Membership Committee

Recruits, welcomes, and retains MAP members; manages member onboarding, database, and benefits.

2. News, Events & Programming Committee

Oversees all events, workshops, and the Maryvale News project to engage the community and control the information narrative.

  • Subproject: Maryvale News – a digital news platform and revenue stream via ads, sponsorships, and storytelling.

3. Outreach & Marketing Committee

Develops campaigns, manages social media, newsletters, and community awareness.

  • Subproject: Maryvale Marketing – branding services, ad sales, and digital promotions for local businesses.

4. Education & Youth Engagement Committee

Leads school partnerships, youth workshops, and recreational programming.

  • Subproject: Intercity Youth Sailing Club – builds leadership and teamwork through sailing education.

5. Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee

Builds relationships with sponsors, writes grants, and organizes fundraising campaigns.

6. Technology & Tools Committee

Manages MAP’s digital infrastructure: website, CRM, email, and productivity tools.

7. Community Engagement Committee

Hosts listening sessions, surveys, and town halls to involve residents and ensure transparency.

8. Business Partnerships & Member Services Committee

Designs member benefit programs, business mixers, and support networks for local entrepreneurs.

9. Finance & Compliance Committee (Optional but recommended as MAP grows)

Supports the Treasurer in budgeting, compliance reviews, and internal audits.
